Okay, now this is getting a little self-indulgent. I wouldn’t have posted this one, except now I want to read it. (Go see the rest of the sexy covers at the post!)
“Catastrophe: the strange stories of Dino Buzzati”.
This book is not only crazy—but has really weird typography. Throughout the book I kind of grew to like it, but I still am not completely convinced of some of the decisions. The part that is hardest for me to understand is why the footnotes are weird symbols and not numbers, it makes them harder to find and understand.
However, the mix of fonts works I think and using a lot of different characters on chapter openers does feel very computer/ robot.
So, I was up too late and checking the all the blogs I follow, and Google Reader suggested The Book Design Review for me.
I love you, Google Reader.
And I’ve wanted to re-read this book for a while.
