duaslesbicas asked: Estou te seguindo segue de volta? :)
This is a sideblog. It can’t follow you back.
trixi-b asked: I don't understand what people don't get about your blog.
Neither do I, but some people are new to Tumblr or young or clueless. It’s not malicious, and it’s no skin off my back to be polite to them. They get a pass. (Elitist shitbirds on anon in my inbox suggesting that maybe I should educate myself, however, do not.)
survivaltest asked: I'm looking for a shit-hot graphic designer who specialised in typography for a job I'm working on. How much do you charge?
agreatloss-deactivated20130416 asked: To the person asking about typography tutorials: If you're looking for some help, I can give you tips or point you out to some cool books.
And one more ask published before I disappear into the night. Go forth and network.
Anonymous asked: I'm really confused on how you can be passionate enough about a subject to make a tumblr on it, but not enough to pick up a book and learn about it, so you aren't so 'clueless' Seems strange.
“I like them pictures with the words on ‘em” is why I run this blog, but that makes a crappy tagline. The old tagline (“I’m not a graphic designer, I just play one on TV”) was even worse, y’all. For an interested layman, I know more than enough to get me by—it’s not as though, over the course of three years of typography blogging, I’ve entirely avoided learning about it. I started this blog to learn.
I just like to keep up a facade of charming bloggerly naïveté (c.f. this) to deflect most serious graphic design inquiries.
the secret……….. is out
dudeurmomluvsme asked: Hi, great blog, I'm thinking about having a theme around your spectrum, About how many followers do you have?
This would be immensely vulgar of me to answer, but I got so excited about this that I had to post it twice, so it’s not like we’re dealing with a lean mean class machine here.
livingfactionless asked: do you do tutorials on typography?? im confused what this blog is about! sorry for sounding dumb :(
Nope! I find typographical images on the internet and post them once or twice or three times a day, depending on when I can be arsed, these past few months.
Anonymous asked: Hi, do you mind me copying the caligraph of surah al fajr ? if it cost please let me know and I will pay.
(For reference, anon is talking about this post.)
Nothing on this blog is my work and I don’t own any of it (except this); the image in that post links back to the artist’s blog. I’m not even sure what you mean by “copying”? I’d ask the artist themselves.
ashortinspiration asked: WOW nice blog!
Thank you very much! I’ve been a little slow lately, but that’s finals week for you.
centpourcent asked: Québécois ?
Nope! I just lucked into the url “typographie” three years ago when Tumblr was fresh and new, because all appealing variations on “typography” were already taken.
Yes! That is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been looking for all this time.
Plenty of books, awyes.
glasgow-oyster answered: Yes mine and other shit I have re-blogged, mix of design, photographs, my own music and drawings and other assorted weirdness.
I was wondering who was going to be That Guy and pimp themselves. Good job, That Guy.
I do like illustration, yeah, this is neat :>
I have known every single iteration of typo/graphic posters, like, before they got all fancy and shit.
Did you know that when they rolled out the first version of their current site design, half the bells and whistles didn’t even work? So you’d go to click on the grey background, and nothing would happen. I think someone also had the idea of different gallery views, it was weird and also didn’t work when you clicked on it, but they’ve long since trashed that. They used to send out INSPIRE e-mails with a selection of cool stuff they had lying around their website, but that stopped in… July of 2010, according to my e-mail.
Oh man, I love logo design! Four for you, Glen Coco.
youwinties answered: This makes a great artist statement.
“I am bored as dicks with everything you hold dear; cater to my whims.”
All of you, may the designer of the typeface of your dreams suddenly decide to offer their entire back catalog free to the entire internet, and may you get in fast and download everything before they realize what an awful idea it was.
nubbytwiglet.com much? One of my favorites and a fellow typophile.
Every Reform has a Lunatic Fringe
not much meat to these websites, but they’re nice nonetheless: twoarmsinc.com
Boss, these are all exactly to my taste.
troll pinterest, and find the blog they link to.
Yo, my mom has a Pinterest.
I quite like bench.li … though you’re probably across that one already.
Nope! But fuckin’ hipsters, man, take a minute and make your
immaculately curated collection of designspiration website navigable.
All of you, may the Helvetica Is The Greatest Fairy and the Why Is Helvetica So Great Anyway Fairy have a death match for your personal enjoyment, and may the victor, bloodied and triumphant, leave 25 cents under your pillows tonight.
Followers, I am bored with my graphic design haunts. I have plundered the trendy depths of FormFiftyFive. I have popped ladyboners at September Industry. I have rolled my eyes at the Most Appreciated on Behance, and I have sniggered at the title of Lovely Package. I have known every single iteration of typo/graphic posters, like, before they got all fancy and shit. Cargo Collective has no power over me. I have Flickrdived until that word almost stopped sounding like an innuendo.
Anyone seen any new or interesting blogs lately?
