"From the 18th century, and perhaps even earlier, hollow eggs on which sacred texts had been written in micrography were used to decorate European sukkahs. Not all the texts related directly to the holiday of Sukkot, the Festival of Booths: this example has Song of Songs 1-4:7 inscribed in miniscule letters. At times feathers were added to the hanging egg, so that it looked like a bird in flight."

Bludot is a furniture design and manufacturing company founded by John Christakos, Charles Lazor and Maurice Blanks. Their goal is to “bring good design to as many people as possible” by creating desirable, useful and affordable products.

The main focus of this stationery system is the powder-coated steel business cards in four colors. Many of their products make use of this material, so we felt the stationery should incorporate this aesthetic. The paper pieces are produced with both offset and letterpress printing (by Studio on Fire).

An enlightening sentence I heard from this girl a while ago. It reads “It has to be sad sometimes “. Simple to the roots, yet very true.
Personal type experiment.

Go on - how many of you realised that Yates, the infamous Wine Lodge company, used to bag their own flour? Old Man Yates was a bit of a health freak and coined the phrase “The whiter your bread, the sooner you’re dead”! I also recall Yates selling tinned sardines - I was told that this was an import sideline alongside the port that came from Portugal.
Yates’s had their own mill, in Spear Street in central Manchester. I don’t know when they ceased production of this sideline!

A series of promotional posters for the legendary Ministry of Sound night club. Conveying the epic nature of their nights and the industrial size of the space, using a sparse, yet considered layout. Geometric forms providing a visual link to their famously rhythmic house music.
