Proxima Nova (2005), reworked from Proxima Sans (1994).
Similar to gotham, but it's not so over used!
It's beautiful.
hey, alec from pretty--faces. I would check out hypefortype, they have a lot of really awesome post-modern typefaces.
The League of Moveable Type is one of my all time favorite sources of display type. League Gothic in particular is very nice in all caps.
(I agree with this one, for the record!)
Re: amazingly gorgeous & unconventional typefaces. For metal type, see arionpress[dot]com (M&H Type catalog). For web based type, see fontbros[dot]com
In reply to your last question to help the Anon, Ziggurat by Hoefler & Frere-Jones. It's beautiful.
Check out Lost Type Co-Op (losttype[dot]com)! It's a pay-what-you-want site.
A list of amazingly gorgeous and unconventional typefaces? :)
Help an anonymous fellow out, o followers?
what tv show do you play a graphic designer on?
Thanks!
Oh—haha, that. That’s just a play off of “I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV,” and an attempt at a tagline for this tumblr slightly more cogent than “I like the pictures with the words on them” (which, let the record reflect, was never an actual tagline, I swear). I’ve gotten a lot of asks over the last two years asking me whether I was a graphic designer or majored in design, or asking me for advice as though I was one, see. I wouldn’t want to mislead anyone! So here, I say it up front.
