have you ever been to chick-fil-a and tohught, their packaging for their croutons/sunflower seeds/granola is so beautiful? or is it just meh

There aren’t any Chick-fil-as where I live! And I’ve never been to one when traveling, either, so I’m not sure what they serve there. But for science, I looked the packaging up, and it hits my thing for red-and-white hardcore:

So that’s that.

Bruno Maag is so enraged by Helvetica that he has designed a typeface aimed specifically at wiping it off the face of the planet. He explains his hatred in the latest of SEA’s Naturalis booklets.  (via Creative Review)

I’ve seen it in books. It has no place there, it has no place in body copy, it is not a hardcore reading font. Being a grotesk font, inherently, it is not very legible.

Lissa:  [Enraged] It’s impossible to pinpoint a time period for helvetica because it’s missing the things that date or modernize things. IT’S AMBIGUOUS

Lissa: UGH.

Lissa: HOW.

Lissa: [Quoting] Clearly, because we are competing aganst Univers, Akzidenz and Helvetica there are a lot of close similarities. The x height is fractionally higher than Helvetica but the rounds have a little bit of squareness about them that Helvetica’s don’t have. The differences are really subtle but give it just that bit of personality.

NO. THEY ARE PRACTICALLY INVISIBLE AND YOU’RE TRYING TO SELL HELVETICA AGAIN. WHORE WHORE WHORE

Me: [Coming in about the shit that really matters] WAIT HE JUST INSULTED JULIA ROBERTS?

Me: AHAHAHAHAHAAA THIS DUDE IS MY MOST FAVORITEST TROLL EVER.

Me: I love this chap. Seriously I want to send him a fruit basket for being typography’s answer to the dude who totally denies the holocaust.
